What you need to know when you arrive at the cabins

Welcome to The Rings Cabins

Holidays are precious times spent reconnecting with friends and family. We hope that your holiday here will be full of special memories.

The following is some information which we hope will tell you all you need to know. If you have other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.


Check in time for the cabins is after 3pm and before 6pm. If you need to arrive out with these times, please contact us to arrange this.

When you arrive please come up the farm track with the “Ring Farm” sign at the end of it.

After the second bend in the track turn right into the car park area for the cabins and barn. If you are booked into cabins 5 or 6 you can park beside the cabin. Parking for all other cabins is in the parking area.

Septic Tank

Please be aware the toilets empty into a septic tank system.

You must not flush feminine hygiene products or contraceptives down it. The system is only suitable for soft tissue and is easily blocked. 

Only use approved cleaning products. Misuse will cause blockages and be both inconvenient and costly to rectify.

Laundry facilities

Currently there are laundry facilities available at the cottage, and when the barn is completed there will be laundry facilities for the cabins there. In the meantime, if you need access to laundry facilities please ask.


Guests may bring pets, provided they have obtained our prior consent.  If you bring your dog, we request that you:

  • Ensure that your dog does not interfere with any of the other animals or guests

Please remember that this is a working farm with livestock and it is the owners’ responsibility to ensure that pets are not detrimental to any livestock in the countryside, including neighbouring farms and any wildlife. 

From April to August there will be ground nesting birds.  While your dog is out of sight, it may be destroying their nests.  Please keep your dog under control by lead or command to help protect our native birds.

Guests whose dogs create a nuisance or pose a danger to other guests may be required to remove their dogs from the farm.

  • Clean up after it. All traces of pet faeces must be removed from patios/gardens etc by the hirer during their occupancy and respecting other guests. 
  • Bring your own basket or blanket for your dog, as these are not provided and pets are not allowed on any furniture or bedding.
  • Keep it under control at all times and do not leave it unattended. Pets should not be left unattended at any time in the property or around the farm. We reserve the right to charge for any damage or extra cleaning required as a result of pets. 


Bins are located at the side of the playbarn. There is no colour coding but there are signs to help you recycle. There is also a bin for glass so please keep this separate.

If dialing from a mobile phone use 112 which allows the emergency services to locate you by satellite.

What’s included in my cabin?

Oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge (with small freezer area), pots, frying pan, sharp knives, tumblers, mugs, bowls, side plates, dinner plates, cutlery (knives, forks, spoons, teaspoons) draining mat

Solid bunk beds with 2 mattresses (3rd mattress available for the floor on request)
One pillow per bed, one duvet per bed, sheet, duvet cover, pillow case,
Shower, one roll of toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, hand soap, bag on the back of the door to keep belongings dry while showering
Free Wifi

Hiring Towels

Please bring your own towels when staying in our cabins. However if this is not possible, towels can be hired from us. If you have hired towels from us please leave these on the wetroom floor when you leave.

Instructions for Appliances


Each of the cabins has it’s own FREESAT TV. This is a smart TV and you should be able to access online content such as Netflix and other subscription services. You need your own account details to access these features. Please remember to sign out of your account prior to your departure.

These are individual to each unit. Instructions can be found in here:

At the end of your stay

Check out time

10 am unless by prior agreement with owner/manager

Bed linen

Please strip all beds before you leave. Place the linen on the floor in a bundle.

Please do not remove the mattress or pillow protectors

Do not wash any linen — all goes to the laundry.


Please leave equipment in place and on charge.

Cables for everything should be left here.


Our soaps and cleaning products are re-fillable, please leave these, even if empty.


Please do not put any BOTTLES in with the everyday rubbish. Please put bottles in the bin provided. If there is more than fits in the container please take to recycling at Craigrothie Village Hall or any local supermarket.
